Premier Inn continues to deliver new sites

The UK’s largest hotel chain continues to achieve new consents for hotels in Berkshire, Devon, Hampshire, London and Manchester Premier Inn, the UK’s largest hotel chain, has achieved planning consent for six new hotel sites in just four weeks. 

The sites will deliver a total of 670 new bedrooms into Premier Inn’s secured development pipeline and takes the company one step closer to achieving its growth target of 75,000 Premier Inn UK bedrooms by 2018.

The planning consents have been achieved at the following locations: 

  • Exeter Southernhay, Devon: 120-bedroom Premier Inn leasehold hotel located next to Exeter’s Crown Court
  • Exmouth, Devon: 60-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and restaurant to be built on a prime site on the town’s Esplanade
  • New Bailey Street, Spinningfields: 140-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and restaurant next to Salford Central Train station
  • Maidenhead, Berkshire: 120-bedroom new-build hotel and restaurant opposite Kidwells Park
  • Farnborough, Hampshire: 80-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and 200-cover Beefeater Grill restaurant
  • Holborn, London: 150-bedroom leasehold Premier Inn hotel and restaurant, which will be an office to hotel conversion on Red Lion Street

The new hotels are a combination of freehold and leasehold deals and will go into Premier Inn’s secured pipeline of more than 10,000 bedrooms.

Since March 2012, Whitbread has created more than 3,000 new jobs across the country and plans to create 12,000 new roles over the next five years as it expands its Premier Inn, restaurant and Costa brands.
