Whitbread Premier Inn Gender Equality Network Event 2025

Whitbread’s Gender Equality Network is recognising inspirational women across the business with its third annual celebratory event.

For the last three years, GEN has been hosting its Superhero event, celebrating inspirational women across the business and marking their achievements with invaluable networking opportunities and celebration.

The annual event most recently took place on the Thursday, May 15, and it did not disappoint, celebrating role models and allies who have gone above and beyond to champion gender equality

Each year, a number of women (which varies each year) are selected from countless nominee votes from employees across the business, and while each nominee is recognised for their hard work and commitment to the company, they are also invited to the celebratory event.

GEN created this event to shine a light on the importance of gender equality and is one of the highlights of its annual events calendar, which also includes question and answers with external inspirational women and menopause awareness.

Whitbread is proud to have set clear diversity and inclusion targets, including 45% female representation in the leadership team by 2026.

As GEN network strives to meet that target, they appreciate the challenges that being a woman in the workplace can sometimes bring, and the obstacles that make a working life difficult.

It’s goal is to break down such barriers by focusing on four key pillars of Careers and Development, Gender Related Health, Family and Flexibility, and Communications and Events, all underpinned by allyship. The latest annual event kicked off in the Whitbread offices in Holborn, where there was a Q and A with other inspirational women and an awards ceremony, followed by a tour of new Whitbread properties, Snowhill and Clerkenwell before dinner and the theatre.

The most recent winners are:
Aimee Lawrence – Business Change Manager
Eileen Allardyce – Hotel Manager, Edinburgh Airport Premier Inn
Georgie Fleming – Central Ops Team
Hannah-Louise Hutson – Kitchen Team Leader, Thurso Premier Inn
Irena Kovalioviene – Housekeeping Manager, London Beckton Premier Inn
Joanne Golding – Programme Manager
Kayla Millon – Hotel Manager, Cardiff City Centre (Queen Street)
Lisa Floyd – Senior Procurement Manager
Marianne Hodges – Team Leader, Marina Brewers Fayre, Hartlepool
Sarinder Janda – Hotel Manager, Kettering Premier Inn
Vaida Sestavickaite – Ground Floor Team Member, London Docklands (Excel)

In light of the superhero event, Clare Thomas, GEN Executive Committee sponsor, said this: “The Superhero event is a mark of the incredible work GEN network does. We are constantly blown away by the strength and integrity shown by inspirational women and we work hard to promote and celebrate that.”

This event and network portrays Whitbread’s commitment to inclusivity and equality, and is an incredible landmark that the whole company looks forward to.
