Training Whitbread launched in March 2008 a new range of Induction and Training solutions to ensure that everyone who joins the Company or who wants to progress has access to a world class learning and skills platform. The new One Whitbread Induction for new team members, managers and central support welcomes everyone from across all Premier Inn and Restaurant Brands and follows with a training plan per operational role which combines completion of a Core Skills Workbook, statutory training through an e-learning solution, the el-box, on job coaching and reviews for all new team members which continue throughout your career.
The new Academy Online holds a full range of training solutions for the different management roles. The solutions are aligned to the Company's key performance indicators, personal progression and are specifically job related by building on the core skill requirements of each role. This blended range includes Core Skills Workbooks for every role, extensive e-learning, DVDs, classroom training with an online booking system, access to a virtual resource library, working with a mentor, hands on training in a systems training centre or in one of the regional training kitchens.
Whitbread is proud of the strong Management Programme that creates an internal pipeline of managers to support the growth plans in coming years. High potential delegates are nominated onto one of the different level programmes and successful completion ensures career progression with the opportunity to move across Brands. The Graduate Programme also appoints new starters to their first management position after twelve months with a further period of operational experience to embed and improve the core skills and knowledge required for a General Manager role in any one of the Brands.
Training for Senior Managers, through a Leadership Programme, enables participants to apply their learning and development as Leaders directly by making a real and significant difference in the business. Leaders from previous programmes have contributed to the Company's success by leading projects for which there has been recognition at the highest level with one particular individual receiving a CEO Award for ‘great leadership in getting the whole of the business behind revenue management and driving the team forward to attain their goal'.
