Our Structure & How We Operate Whitbread PLC is led by a chief executive officer, along with the Group Finance Director and the Company Secretary they form the Main Board Committee, which in addition to the non-executives of the Board, form the ultimate decision making authority within the management structure. In addition, the CEO's direct reports - functional heads and the managing directors of the various brands - comprise the Executive Council. This is an information sharing and consultative body which meets monthly.
Each of the operating brands has its own 'brand board', which consists of the Brand's Managing Director and the functional heads who provide specialised support for that brand. One of these will invariably be an Operations Manager and, depending on the brand, they will have a network of Regional Operations Managers, who will in turn have Area Managers reporting into them, managing a range of units or outlets in a given area. Within outlets, there is usually a General Manager, supported by an Assistant Manager, with team leaders, supervisors and team members.
